Sealed System Refrigeration Technician
Compressor, evaporator, and sealed system work on residential and built-in refrigeration. Brazing, recovery, and charging, including R600a. This is the specialist role we hire least often and value most.

What you will do
- Diagnose and repair sealed system failures: compressors, evaporators, condensers, filter driers, and leaks
- Braze, recover, evacuate, and charge systems to spec, including R600a and R134a
- Handle the premium built-in units (Sub-Zero, Thermador, Viking, Dacor) that generalists refer out
- Support the rest of the technician team on refrigeration diagnosis when they hit a wall
- Keep refrigerant handling and recordkeeping compliant
What we need
- Proven sealed system experience: you have brazed, recovered, and charged residential refrigeration, not just replaced boards
- EPA Section 608 certification (Type I at minimum, Universal preferred)
- Working knowledge of R600a and the safety practices flammable refrigerants require
- Comfortable with nitrogen purging, vacuum, and micron gauges
- Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
Nice to have
- Factory training on Sub-Zero, Thermador, or Viking refrigeration
- Experience with variable-speed and inverter compressors
- Five or more years in the trade
